Heather, this candle burns for you.

My Dearest Heather,

I knew you for only about two years, yet you touched my life in only a way one other person has. You accepted me for who I was. You looked deep inside and liked me for who I was, and I did the same with you. I can honestly say I fell in love with you. I am sorry that things never worked out between us, but things worked out for us. You and I both found what we were looking for in other people.

You know I was never good with words, I always quoted songs to expess what I felt. Well, I wouldn't want to break tradition, so I will leave you with this song by Tom Petty:

YOU AND I WILL MEET AGAIN

You and I will meet again

when we're least expecting it

Someday in some far off place

I will recognize your face

I won't say goodbye my friend

For you and I will meet again

I heard you singing to noone

I saw you dancing all alone

One day you belonged to me

Next day I just wouldn't know

Someday all the rules will bend

And you and I will meet again

I've got a feeling

I've got a feeling so strong

Maybe someday

Our roads will cross

A red-winged hawk is circling

The blacktop strecthes out for days

How could I get so close to you

And still feel so far away?

I hear a voice come on the wind

Saying you and I will meet again

I don't know how, I don't know when

But you and I will meet again
